Electric cars are not a solution to the climate crisis, but the hydrogen is. Combine hydrogen and oxygen and you get WATER: no carbon released, no pollution, and yet you carry with you the fuel that you need to move forward, which is ultimately what you want to achieve. Electric cars have ultra heavy batteries that just change state and not weight as you use then, and they have a very bad energy produced over weight ratio.

On the other hand hydrogen will have you move forward in a clean way, the only problem is that hydrogen is easy to produce at home, so countries wouldn't see how to tax that, and it's precisely why that perfect technical solution that is hydrogen as a fuel hasn't made it to the public yet.

Maybe it's time for humanity to realise that physical movement of goods and people isn't a thing to tax, but a natural right as water on the tap and physical integrity.
